Summer Reading
I hope you found a place for doing some summer reading. My husband and daughter (Tom and Moira) escape the heat at our camp site along Banks Lake in eastern Washington to do some reading. Tom is reading Cadillac Desert: The American West and Its Disappearing Water by Marc Reisner. Moira can’t put down Circle of Magic: Sandry’s Book by Tamora Pierce. She’s wanting to get to my book, The Golden Compass by Philip Pullman.
I’ve been busy reading and listening to the new Sasquatch nomanees, as well as a few extras that I thought were interesting from our Bryant Library.
- Abby Takes a Stand by Pat McKissack
- Airball: My Life in Briefs by Lisa Harkader
- Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows by J.K. Rowling
- Defiance by Valerie Hobbs
- The Misadventures of Maude March, or Trouble Rides a Fast Horse by Audrey Couloumbis
- Whittington by Alan W. Armstrong
- Owen Foote, Mighty Scientist by Stephanie Greene
- Emma Dilemma and the Two Nannies by Paricia Hermes
- Down the Colorado: John Wesley Powell, the one-Armed Explorer by Deborah Kogan Ray
- The Awakening (Part of the Quantum Prophecy) by Michael Owen Carroll
- The day Joanie Frankenhauser became a boy - Francess Lin Lantz
Share with me a good read you had over the summer. Did you find a favorite reading spot or were you caught reading in an unexpected place?

high. How I love them! How I need them! I’ll have along beard by the
time I read them.” — Arnold Lobel (Frog & Toad and many others)
